Say It With Mosaics
(4 min read) Ahhh, Valentine’s Day is finally upon us. It’s time to shamelessly flaunt both your girlfriend and your wife for the world to see; time to air out your stay-at-home hubby and take a day off from your 8 to 8 corporate grind; time to take your single self to a club and hang your kink on your sleeve. It’s time to shine boys, gals, and non-binary pals.
You’re probably already thinking of luxury chocolate boxes, lavish flower bouquets, and romantic dinners… I was joking of course! Wait… You weren’t really thinking about those, right? I mean, cmon! Leave cliches for some other holiday. Make this Valentine’s Day count! How? Hmmm…It should be something stunning, something long-lasting that will symbolize your undying love and libido… Hmmm… I know! Mosaic art!
So, just like with any other holiday and mosaic art, you can always take a couple of different approaches. The first and the most obvious choice is for you to choose a mosaic artwork with a theme of love for your significant other. It should be pretty straightforward: a couple hugging, a couple running in the rain, a couple doing the nasty,… the choice is endless. I mean, it doesn’t even have to be a couple! There can be three, or more people. It all depends on the message you are trying to convey, and if yours is of an orgy made of the highest quality glass tiles in the name of love, we won’t judge. We’ll just make it look impeccable and stylish.
The second choice is the subtle one. Contemporary mosaic art depicting flowers, animals, or even some love-related abstract theme. This one is perfect if you’ve just started your relationship but want to solidify it with a meaningful, but not “scary” present. In this case, the message would be: “I really like you and I’d like for this to last, but I’m not about to propose, so stop screaming.”
The third and final option is to go for something you know they need. A gorgeous, but discreet mosaic backsplash, a vibrant contemporary mosaic art for their empty lying room wall, and a mosaic medallion to embellish the grim-looking space above the fireplace. We all need a mosaic in our lives, the question is just where and what kind.
Did you know that approximately 250 million roses are grown in preparation for Valentine’s Day each year? Imagine the slaughter of roses that ensues every year! Is that who you want to be? A killer? Nah, my guy. Choose love, buy a mosaic artwork instead. *wink wink

Mosaics add such a bold look to a home. I’m thinking seriously about redoing both our kitchen and bathroom with a mosaic tile.

I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a special gift for Valentine’s Day, so I decided to make a mosaic with our photos. I printed out our favorite memories, cut them into small pieces, and arranged them into a heart shape on a wooden board. I glued the pieces together, framed the mosaic, and gave it to her with a card that said “You are the most beautiful piece of my life”.
