Make your patio decor pop without breaking the bank
(5 min read) That lovely outdoorsy weather is here again and it is time to switch up your patio and garden game but you are trying to stay within a tight budget? No problem. We’ve got some amazing ideas that will make your outdoor sanctuary amazing without ruining your savings.

There are some simple pointers that will make your patio memorable and stylish, regardless of its overall layout and look. Whether you are going for a minimalistic, off-white look, with furry cushions and glass décor, or you are taking a more rustic route with washed wood and terracotta, some rules of decorating are applicable to both and they will do miracles for both your patio and your wallet.

Choose your key-piece wisely
When it comes to your patio, the key piece is the largest piece of furniture. Go for quality and comfort. Cushioned and fluffy-looking pieces are the way to go this summer unless you are going for a dining set aesthetic. In that case, just make sure all of your chairs and tables share the same color. For example, if your chair covers are orange, make sure your table cloth is also orange, and so on. Key pieces are there to make sure your patio has a cohesive look.

Framing is important
Think about the vibes you are trying to accomplish carefully before you start buying your décor. We’ve already mentioned color in the previous passage, so you can opt for a color scheme and work within it. The trick here is not to overdo it. The color scheme should be centered and then less obvious as you move toward the outlines of your patio. You can also use a particular style theme as a frame. So if you choose for example boho, always ask yourself if something would fit that narrative when shopping.

Update so it lasts
No matter how much money you spend on your patio furniture, it will always look pretty outdated within a year or two and there is no way for you to go around that. Trends change, as well as people’s perception of beauty and style. However, one thing remains seemingly timeless and popularity contests can’t touch it — mosaic art. If you opt to do your patio floor in mosaic, you will always have a focal point to work around. You will notice that I said always, because mosaic art is virtually indestructible, not to mention that it requires no maintenance whatsoever.

Lights and plants
One of the cheapest ways to upgrade your patio is lighting. Whether you opt for paper lanterns, string lights, or solar lamps, you will surely stay within your budget and the change will be astounding. As for plants, you can treat your old ones with some new pots or do some mosaic art DIY on your old dingy ones, or you can buy new plants and new pots. Either way, it wouldn’t be a big investment and the effect would be amazing.

Less is more
Yes, this good old saying applies here too. Don’t overdo it. It’s a patio, it already has an open sky, grass, and fresh air, which is most of the décor it basically needs. It should be a peaceful oasis where you can rest and take a break, it shouldn’t be smothered with details. This last piece of advice is also great to keep in mind if you are trying to stick to your budget. *wink wink

So there you go! Once you’re done updating your good ole patio, you won’t even want to leave for vacation. You’ll be too busy falling in love with your new outdoor nook.
