Bring Nature Inside With Our Stunning Mosaic Landscape Murals
(4 min read) Landscapes have always posed a challenge for artists. To the layman’s eye, the subject may seem pretty straightforward. You see gorgeous scenery and use your talent and art supplies to recreate it, whether with pen, charcoal, paint, camera, or mosaic tiles. Oh, but don’t forget to pour your soul into it! How? Well, that’s where the challenge is.
In general, there are three types of landscape art out there: impressionistic, representative, and abstract. This particular categorization was first established in the field of painted art, and it spread from there. Today, every landscape whether dry and withered, or lush and full of greenery, can be placed in one of these three categories.
Impressionistic mosaic landscape is usually created with glass, as it tends to focus on accurate depictions of light. Mosaic impressionists prefer working with stained glass because the material allows them to manipulate light in all of its changing qualities. Furthermore, impressionist landscape usually revolves around open compositions seen from an unusual angle. The intricacy of the tile placement only intensifies the odd point of view, making the impressionist mosaic landscape one of the most challenging in mosaic art.
The representational mosaic landscape is the one where you can almost smell the hay and run your hand through gentle fronds of fern. It is the most realistic-looking mosaic art landscape and as such it was the most sought-after these past couple of years. People were locked up inside and eager to have something real and natural indoors.
Abstract mosaic art landscape is all about the atmosphere of the mosaic scenery and it is characterized by an obvious and deliberate departure from reality. Unconventional color schemes, bold details, and amplified shapes are what make abstract mosaic landscapes intriguing for both the mosaicist and the viewer.
Regardless of your preference, mosaic landscapes are the perfect artwork for every upcoming trend. As vastly different as some of them are, the undertone of all interior design trends this year will be sustainability, and there is nothing that inspires sustainability more than nature itself.
