What To Consider Before Redecorating Your House
(3 min read) Redecorating a house is more difficult than you think. A house represents your most innate desires, thoughts,
Find Out Your True Self
It might feel like I am just making this up but think about it. You are going to spend most of your life in that house. It should resonate with who you truly are. If you enjoy the dark, dreamy and bold things in life, then decorating your home with light and breezy colors would just make you uneasy all the time.

Find out your true self. Look deep inside and decide what kind of person you are. Do you like dark atmosphere with bold, vibrant or energetic colors, or are you love a light color palette? What kind of furniture you’re most comfortable with? Straight lined, hardwood, metallic, minimalist or

Figure Out The Budget Thing
Most people fall deeply in love with their dream home interior design that they forget to take into account the actual budget behind the redecoration. Their redecoration always ends midway due to the lack of financial means.

Once the budget is all laid out in facts and figures, get rid of unnecessary or redundant upgrades. Compare prices from different sellers and see what best suits your financial budget. After all, no one really wants to live in an unfinished living space. You can skip a few low priority upgrades to get the best and important home interior enhancements for your home.
Don’t Overcrowd The Space
When people start brainstorming for home interior redecoration, sometimes they overdo it. Ours is the era of minimalism, precision and open floor interior designs.

Invest in mosaic artwork to further accentuate the beauty of your room. The best thing about mosaic artwork installation is that it perfectly binds together the aura of the room and draws the eye to the center of attention.

Buy little. Buy the best. Buy beautiful. These are the key ingredients for purchasing the perfect amount of furniture and amenities for your redecoration project. Leave some space in the room and accessorize it with only the most beautiful and the important features in your redecoration plan.

So many great tips! I agree with figure out who you really are first, and going from there!
love your photos. Yes changing deco is very important from time to time. My problem is always putting too namy things 🙂
These are all beautiful images. My husband and I are currently in the process of remodeling our home room by room.
My husband and I want to redecorate so badly. Paint some walls. Get rid of some of our furniture and get new stuff. But then we think about how this is not our forever home so we don’t really want to make that kind of investment. It’s hard!
I love these tips. I’ve never had an eye for interior design, so this helps me a lot. I know I always end up overcrowding the space.
Two things really resonate with me in this: Finding your true self and Not overcrowding.
I think so many times people (myself included) try to make their homes what others will find impressive – not necessarily what truly brings them comfort and joy.
I also am a HUGE proponent of not overcrowding – something my husband and I are at odds with all the time. He would set our home up like a frat house , with wall to wall couches if I let him 🙂
In my opinion, furnishing a house is like giving it a soul, ours, but exaggerating losing the compass is easy and calls for falling into the cheap.
I’ll keep these tips in mind. I do want to redecorate at some point. We did pull the carpet out downstairs and put in hardwood floors. So that’s something.
To have rooms this big would be awesome. I need to do some decorating with my floors.
You are right in that redecorating requires a lot of planning if one intends to do it right. So many things to consider.
We just bought our first house and are currently decorating, etc. These are great tips, thank you so much. I am definitely an “over crowder” I am finding!
Figure out the budget thing – Ha! Kinda the most important part. I have started with a vision before that failed miserably because I realized I could not justify splurging on that reclaimed wood, rustic luxury centerpiece…
I just moved house, the walls are white and it makes everything look clinical(to my taste) this post has just come at the right time so thanks so much for sharing.
This is SO true. Redecorating can be such a pain and SO expensive. We’re just about to paint and that’s it! ha!
this are great tips! I’m going to try to implement the mosaic one.
Totally agree with these tips. I mean after all, you don’t want to just dive into making all these drastic decisions.
My greatest takeaway in this amazing write-up is: Buy little. Buy the best. Buy beautiful. Thanks for all the great tips!
These are all absolutely great home designs. This is something we must read when thinking of doing a home renovation. I have really learned a lot
I’ll be saving this post for when we find our home, we’re currently house hunting right now and I’m positive I’ll want to put my own touch on all of the decor when we move! such an insightful list of tips, thank you for sharing!
I am all into redecorating my house this spring. did so much! I don’t need to fix the floors but your post is super helpful anyway
Wonderful pictures. I don’t like overcrowding spaces. Seeing these mosaic arts, I feel like buying one of the mosaic pieces.
very useful tips. Finding your true self is so important. House is reflection of your true self, you can no longer feel your best in the house which is not ‘you’
I totally agree with do not overcrowd the space. Sometimes less is more. I prefer there are more space in the home.
Awesome tips and cool photos. Yes, I hate overcrowded rooms. Spacious rooms are more soothing and catchy. Thanks for the great tips.
Budget is the foremost thing one should consider based on that everything else can be taken care.
I would have a hard time “finding my true self” as my preferences change drastically from time to time. I am inclined to choose a modern minimalist style, but I am just not sure about the colors.
Great points there! I think not overcrowding is crucial otherwise the place loses its appeal. I’ve never tried mosaic artwork but it sure blends in!!
Great read Thank you! Im redecorating 3 room currently thanks for all the great info
I love the idea of “FIND OUT YOUR TRUE SELF” that is actually a very significant factor in redecorating your house. It describe you, it makes you whole as a person, it represents you. I want to have my own home someday and I want it to have a dreamy theme, more on wooden stuff.
These are some really great tips for when it comes to make a house your very own. Budget is definitely important!

These are fantastic tips. It is so important to consider a variety of things before redecorating – you don’t want to be thinking about them after you’ve already started!
These are great considerations to have. I truly am a minimalist who prefers wide open spaces, few items on a shelf, and an easy to maintain space. The rest of my family does not come anywhere close to that desire. LOL. But, we work to decorate in such a way that we all feel we are compromising.
Oh all these rooms look so stunning!! I would love to redecorate our house but I always struggle to keep to a budget!
Really great tip! Budgeting is sooo important, you certainly don’t want to start a project that can’t be finished or causes an inconvenient in the end.
Yes! I love these tips, I just started redecorating our bedroom last weekend.
It’s true that homeowners have to take time to get to know their personal style. Of course minimalism is not the only decor style. So homeowners would want to be careful to follow the styles that fit their personality rather than popular trends.
This is a really great list! It’s definitely important to figure out yourself and want you want before redecorating! Also knowing your budget is very important
Thank you for sharing these tips! We just bought our first house and I can’t wait to implement some of these when designing the interior of my home.
When we were in the middle of renovating our current home before move-in, I struggled a lot with how to decorate it. I really like the super on trend farmhouse decor style, but have always been drawn to dark colors. Especially after living in apartments and dorm rooms for all of my adult life up to that point, I was dying for more expression. I’m so glad I went with the dark and rich colors my gut pulled me toward.
I also find rich colors more fulfilling in terms of expression, it is great that you pulled this off, it feels so good to be right doesn’t it?
I am about to re-decorate my home so this post was super useful.
Definitely a great tips and I agree that before changing your house decor you should find it first to yourself and you also need to consider your budget before doing it.

All the images looks beautiful and yes you are on point. I love art so my home is more of artwork.
And always know the size of your room and bring a tape measure. We bought a couch that just crowded our living room. It was very comfy, but it makes it difficult to find a great layout.
These were great tips. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Monidipa, i am so glad we agree. Have yourself an amazing weekend.
So many good points made here. Budget is a big one for me when thinking about redecorating my household.
The house protects the dreamer; the house allows one to dream in peace. A house is made with walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams. Doing some remodel already!!! waiting for my dream one
Fingers crossed you will get your dream house soon.

I spend lots of time at home because I work from home. I agree that’s important to create a cozy space that reflects who you are.
What do I consider before redecorating my house? It is my hubby’s approval. hahaha….I am not winning yet.
You know you got my support Garf lol!!! Go for it as many times as you need.
I’m with you about the “no overcrowd the space” the older I get the fewer things I want to see around. Uncluttered spaces give me peace.
we are redecorating and remodeling now. it sure is a process to find our style!
so many good tips. we just bought a house and its tough deciding between what we like and what really fits in this home
I so love this post. When I am moving into an apartment, I make sure I create time for viewing and ask if my unit will be the same because I usually start planning in my head where everything will be. And when I move , it still takes me 2 months to get everything in order because I don’t want to buy unnecessary stuff
Finding out your true self would be very helpful in decorating. It’s a beautiful thing. And definitely being able to set your budget is essential.
All very great tips! Finding out your true self is so important. Many times it seems like people just want their homes to look like their favorite celebrities homes or they just decorate it however they think the “elite” would decorate their homes, with a bunch of weird art, lol. Great post!
I was also thinking of redecorating my house and these are such great tips! Thanks for sharing!
These are some amazing tips. I will definitely keep in mind all these tips whenever we are going to renovate our house. BTW I like the bed in the picture.
I’m getting ready to move so I’ve been thinking about how I want to decorate my new space. I want a place that works on my budget but also allows me to express my style. These tips will definitely be useful.
These are some great tips before redecorating! I love when I am able to change up a space in my home. The budget always seems to get me though! Thanks for sharing!
The budget is probably the hardest part for me. I always ended up going over because I just can’t help but buy all the decorations and furniture…I’m working on it though
