Green Interior Design: All the Vibes You Need
(4 min read) It’s been pretty obvious for a while now that Green is having a moment, y’all. And we are not just talking about your Jason Tatum jersey or that kale smoothie you keep chugging. No, we are talking about the fact that in 2025, green has officially become the lush and curvy darling of home interior design, and we are SO here for it.

Once upon a time, having a green, eco-friendly home meant slapping a few potted plants on some bamboo shelves and calling it a day. Nowadays, green interior design has become a full-blown lifestyle trend. From gentle sage walls and energy-saving gadgets to bold emerald furnishings and solar roof panels, eco-friendly is all the rage now, and it is here to stay.

Interior design experts are still debating what started this leafy renaissance after years of sturdy white minimalism. Part of it is undoubtedly psychological. We’ve spent a long time being locked inside with our gadgets and books, so now we simply crave to connect with nature in every facet of our lives. Bringing nature indoors would be the ultimate move towards that goal.

There are also the aspects of digital overwhelm we all tend to feel from time to time. Some of us spend hours scrolling through social media, others work on computers from 9 to 5, so some kind of mental overburdening is inevitable. In this age of digital deluge, nature is the only solution that can help us recharge and stay sane.

Lastly, most of us are well aware of the planet in a larger sense, so most of us are suffering from climate anxiety one way or another. Whether you can only vaguely remember the snowy days from your childhood with some painful nostalgia, or you are suffering through long and scorching summer days that seem to have no end, all of us can see that our planet is hurt. And all of us know who’s to blame.

All of these facts lead us to this point today when we deeply crave to be more connected to nature that still surrounds us. Interior designers call it “eco-cocooning”: a glorious trend where serene, nature-inspired interiors help us recenter, recharge, and feel more grounded. This particular trend isn’t just about aesthetics, but also about sustainability, wellness, and a deeper bond to the world around us.

Unlike many other popular colors (*hisses in the vague direction of millennial pink), green, with all outfits many shades and moods, is easy to incorporate into any interior. It is basically a Taylor Swift of colors, one shade for every era. Soft sage and deeper olive tones are perfect for bathrooms and bedrooms. If you’re feeling bold or slightly courageous, choose emerald and forest green for your living room. both will instantly elevate your space, without going full gothic.

Green also plays well with any already existing home interior style, from industrial chic to sleek Scandinavian minimalism. Whether your home features a lot of metallic finishes, washed wood, or acrylic outrage, there’s a green shade to pair with it. Green is also perfect if you’re not intent on repainting your walls this year because, depending on the shade, it can go with virtually any color palette. Whatever your home interior vibes are, green will only make it better and enhance its appeal.

If you want to go green in 2025, you don’t need a full-scale renovation to do it. Consciously add more plants to your space. Choose snake plants and ivy for cleaner air, go for orchids and palms to banish mold, etc. Swap your textiles into some vibrant green tones and shift the energy in your space. Repaint your kitchen cabinets and add some green accents wherever you can. Once you’ve incorporated green into your home, it will feel like a breath of fresh air.

It may look like green interiors are trendy at the moment, but they’re not going anywhere. As climate consciousness keeps growing, and people look for more nuance in their everyday spaces, the undeniable appeal of a sustainable, serene, and stylish home will only deepen. Next month, we will chat about why mosaic is the best solution for both your home style and functionality if you are going green.
