Revitalize Your Backyard Oasis: Springtime Pool Renovation Guide
(7 min read) The weather is getting hotter, people are getting naked-er (not a word!), and Starbucks put out a new Lavender Creme Frappuccino. All of the signs for the beginning of a pool renovation season are here.
Whether your pool has that look of an older racist gentleman with a colorful past, or your tastes have evolved from swimming princes to deep-diving morally grey villains, pool renovation doesn’t have to be a daunting task. There is a huge variety of different renovation options that will give your backyard a much-needed facelift before the summer finally starts.
From updating the shape of your pool to adding fiberglass stairs and steel benches, there are a myriad of pretty important things you can do to make your pool look significantly better than it does. You’ve probably noticed my passive-aggressive use of the term “pretty important” there, and if you did, kudos to you. The reason I worded it that way is while all of those things would be quite an improvement for any pool, they all take a backseat to – changing your pool tiles.
Needless to say, we all have a couple of weird years behind us, and so does your pool. At this point, he’s that one mouthbreathing guy in the office who wears coke bottle glasses and always has a stain on his shirt. He needs your help, ASAP. And what better way to help him than to get him a completely new look? On that note, let’s change and elevate your dingy ole pool together!
In terms of materials, pools come in several different types. Vinyl pools are the cheapest, but they would need to be replaced every 7-15 years because the vinyl is thin and prone to damage, which can ultimately greatly impact the resale value of your house. Fiberglass pools are limiting in terms of shape and size, and they are extremely expensive. Concrete pools are a bummer to maintain, as their surface is porous making it the perfect environment for algae growth. Sooo, what else is there?
There is still the best option, of course, a mosaic tile swimming pool. Mosaic tiles are extremely durable and virtually indestructible. Even if one gets damaged, you can easily replace it, without having to renovate your whole pool. That is the main reason why all of our mosaic artworks have a lifetime guarantee tied to them.
Glass mosaic tiles are also smooth and easy to maintain, which makes the otherwise tedious battle with algae almost non-existent. Mosaic tiles are also safer than other options because they can be slip-resistant where it matters, so you don’t have to worry about unfortunate accidents when your pool party hits its peak, or when the kids are having fun.
However, all of those amazing practical advantages aside, glass mosaic tiles are simply unmatched when it comes to your swimming pool aesthetic. Glass is reflective, so the play of light and shadow on the water’s surface is always mesmerizing, even if you don’t opt to have any particular design. Glass mosaic tiles can also create a vanishing edge for your pool, giving it a seamless look and making it marvelously blend into the surrounding landscape.
In terms of various designs, glass mosaic tiles are so versatile that we can recreate any design that comes to your mind. From large-scale mermaids and octopuses to tiny seahorses and colorful shoals of fishes, if you choose mosaic tiles, your swimming pool is a playground for your imagination.
We have plenty of stunning designs that will fit your pool perfectly, but if you have some original ideas we will be thrilled to make them come to fruition. Let’s make your pool look stunning together and make this summer the best you ever had!
