Home Décor trends of 2019  —  An earthy dream

(3 min read) This year has revolutionized home décor, with environmental consciousness growing evermore, backed with the prudent words of Greta Thunberg, by scientists, worldwide school strikes, and the infamous extinction rebellion, it seems the natural world is growing ever more present in our minds. This seems to have been reflected in our homes and living spaces, with more natural materials replacing the industrial modern edge that the early twenty-teens had to offer. Organic materials such as marble, stone, granite, gunmetal and pewter, copper, earthy ceramics, calming woods, and soft tones are creating a natural ambiance and serenity. Minimalism is in, matching a noticeable shift in many people’s attitudes towards consumerism, white walls and plant life are replacing busy spaces. Grunge, rustic décor, and open shelving, open plan kitchens and plumbing are bringing a hip yet tasteful relaxation to our home vibe.

I loved the exposed beam Christmas room! And the dark bathroom. Both were so simply stated and elegant. I must finish raising my kids before I figure out what direction my decorating will go. Hopefully the clutter will go along with the grown up kids!!!
