The mosaic that your space will thank you for.
Gladiators Roman Marble Mosaic – Handmade Historical Wall Art
Gladiators Roman Mosaic Design is a handmade Roman-inspired mosaic mural depicting the professional combatants of ancient Rome. The artwork explores the different classes of gladiators, distinguished historically by their weapons and fighting styles.
Created by mosaicist Lorenzo De Rosso, this natural marble artwork brings Roman history and hand-cut stone craftsmanship into homes, offices, retail spaces, and gardens.
Materials and Craft
Gladiators Roman Mosaic Design is composed of premium natural marble tiles and crafted by hand on a mesh support.
Each mosaic is assembled from natural stones hand-cut by artists. Variations in the color and cut of the individual stones give the finished artwork the visual character of a handmade natural-stone mosaic.
The artwork can be customized in size, shape, tile type, and color. It can also be adapted for applications including wall decoration, floor inlays, backsplashes, countertops, tabletops, and more.
Design Details
The artwork draws on the world of ancient Roman gladiators, professional combatants whose roles and fighting methods varied according to their classes, weapons, and styles of combat.
The Roman subject gives the composition a historical and figurative character, while the hand-cut marble pieces create a detailed surface that connects the imagery to the traditional craft of mosaic art.
Natural variations throughout the marble contribute subtle differences in color and stone cut, giving the historical scene a beautiful quality that is distinct from printed or painted wall art.
Where It Works
Gladiators Roman Mosaic Design is suited to living spaces, offices, retail environments, and gardens where historical or classical artwork can complement the surrounding architecture.
The mosaic can also be used as wall decoration or adapted for floor inlays, backsplashes, countertops, and tabletops.

You are 6 simple steps away to completely transforming your space:
Step 1. Gently open your package and unravel your mosaic. The mosaic is mounted on a fiber mesh backing and wrapped with a protective film from the reverse. Gently remove the protective film without damaging the mesh and remove any excess glue. Should individual stones have become loose during shipment, glue them back using a solvent-based adhesive.
Step 2. Using your trowel, spread a thin layer of adhesive or white thin-set mortar across the surface you wish to tile. If you’re placing your mosaic on a vertical wall or ceiling, you can always glue it to a wooden board and secure the board to the wall. In the case of large wall installations, nailing little nails into the gaps between the stones for a stronger seal is recommended. If the mosaic is to be laid in a humid or wet room, the laying area must be made waterproof. A special sealing adhesive should be used.
Step 3. Gently place the mosaic and use the flat end of the grout float to ensure the mosaic is perfectly flat and well adhered to the surface. Remove any excess of mortar with a damp cloth.
Step 4. Wait for at least 24 hours for the mortar to dry out. Once the mortar is dry, moisten the tiles using a damp sponge, spread your desired grout to fill the spaces between tiles using your grout float. Wipe down any excess grout, first with a dry towel, then a wet one. (Before applying the grout, make sure to glue back in place any fallen stone using a solvent-based adhesive)
Step 5. Once dry (will take approximately 24 hours), apply a marble and stone sealer.
Step 6. Take a step back and admire the space you’ve just transformed.

Your mosaic has its very own fingerprint
Just like your fingertips, your mosaic will be unique in the world. There are two reasons for this:
1. Nothing’s set in stone. Yet. Before you buy, you can customize: For any surface: Turn it into a floor inlay or rug, wall decoration, backsplash, countertop or tabletop. For any space: Make it sparkle indoors or outlast sun, snow and cannonball splashes outdoors. For any style: Change the size, natural stone type and color.
2. All mosaics are not created equal. Each one is made of natural stones, hand-cut by our artists. This means that while your art will look like the image above, we can’t guarantee an exact replica. Your masterpiece will have slight variations in color and cut of the tiles that will make it truly one of a kind.
